On 17th June 2025, history echoed through the hills of Khour as Dogra Shaurya Diwas was celebrated with grand devotion and deep respect at Shiva Palace, Pargwal (Khour), Jammu & Kashmir. This day was dedicated to honoring the legendary Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji, the founding figure of the Dogra empire, whose journey from a warrior to a ruler continues to inspire generations.
🚩 “Jahan Tilak Bana Tha Taaj, Wahi Se Shuru Hua Dogra Raaj!”
This wasn’t just an event—it was a soulful remembrance of Dogra valor, unity, and the vision of a sovereign Jammu & Kashmir. The theme “Sangharsh Se Singhasan Tak” (From Struggle to Sovereignty) beautifully captured the essence of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s journey and the pride of the Dogra community.
🎖 Highlights of the Day
The event witnessed a vibrant mix of history, culture, and youth engagement, carefully curated to reflect the legacy of the Dogras:
🏰 Raj Tilak Smriti Samaroh – A symbolic recreation of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s coronation, reviving the glory of the Dogra throne.
📜 Itihas Samvaad (Historical Dialogue) – Scholars and local historians shared untold stories of the Dogra empire, its warriors, and its role in shaping Jammu & Kashmir’s identity.
🏅 Yuva Samman Samaroh – Talented and socially active youth from the region were felicitated for their contributions in culture, sports, and public service.
🎭 Sanskritik Prastutiyan (Cultural Performances) – Traditional Dogra folk songs, martial dance forms, and storytelling made the event a cultural celebration.
