Introduction
Financial barriers often prevent students from continuing their education. To address this issue, Hum
Saath Saath Hain Social Welfare Foundation has launched the Geeta Shiksha Yojana, a scholarship
program for deserving students from government schools in the Jammu division. This initiative
ensures that selected students receive financial support to continue their studies from class 8 to
class 10.

Eligibility Criteria for Students

- Students must be enrolled in a government school in the Jammu division.
- They should be studying in Class 8 at the time of application.
- Total Duration: 3 years (2025–2027).
- Total Schools Covered: 60 government schools.
- Total Students Benefiting: 60 (20 students per year).
- 20 schools selected each year (2025, 2026, 2027) with 1 student per school.
Scholarship Amount & Structure
Total Amount: ₹15,000 (over 3 years, minimum).
Yearly: ₹5,000 in Class 8, ₹5,000 in Class 9, and ₹5,000 in Class 10 (can increase based on NGO decision).
Continuity: The same student will receive the scholarship each year from Class 8 to Class 10.
Selection Process
- Identification of Eligible Students by schools.
- Evaluation & Counselling by NGO representatives.
- Final Selection based on academic performance, financial background, and motivation level.
Fund Disbursement & Monitoring
- The NGO will track student progress through school reports and direct communication with
teachers.
- Checks will be issued directly to students or their parents/guardians at a designated event
or through official school channels.
Reporting and Accountability
- Students will submit regular progress reports.
- An annual audit will be conducted to ensure the proper utilization of funds.
Scholarship Conditions & Cancellation
No Cash Payments: Scholarships will be issued only via check in the student’s or parent’s name.
Scholarship Validity:
- The scholarship is granted annually and is renewed based on student performance and school attendance.
- Students must remain enrolled in the same school unless transferred due to valid reasons (e.g., relocation, school closure).
- Students must maintain regular attendance and good academic performance.
Scholarship Cancellation Policy:
- If a student drops out of school, their scholarship will be canceled immediately.
- If a student fails without valid reasons, the NGO will review their eligibility and may cancel the scholarship.
- If a student is found misusing funds or involved in serious disciplinary issues, their scholarship will be revoked.
- The school principal and class teacher must confirm the student’s continued enrolment and progress for the scholarship to be renewed.
